So, this car guy has been dreaming about a Corvette since he was old enough to understand cars (so, about 5 years old). While my friends had lambos and porsche posters, I always had Corvettes plastered on my walls, even when I was old enough to hang posters of pin-up girls, they were leaning over a Vette. My uncle has 3 of them (a '76, an 88 and a 2003), and he has always had them for me to stare at and on occasion he would take me for rides.
Yesterday, I drove off the lot of a Chevy dealership in Orlando, in my White 2008 3LT Z51 Corvette, then I spent half the night running out to the garrage to sit and stare at it. I put 65 miles on it yesterday, and can't wait to go run errands all day today.
So... intro.... My name is Simon, I am the Animation Director for the football titles EA Sports makes, down here in Orlando Florida (just moved here, I used to be Animation Director for EA Canada, where I was director on NBA Street Homecourt, and FIFA before that). I have a wife and 2 wonderful kids (and a honda odysee, so the family-car is taken care of)... Surf, snowboard (used to live in Vancouver), rode a GSX-R750 up until about 2 weeks ago, play guitar, do MMA, and love my new Corvette!
That's awesome man! It's such an overwhelming feeling when you finally achieve what you've been waiting for for years. Welcome to the forum! I've been a member for a day or so now, but the guys here are awesome!
Congrats on the 08 vette, Simon!! You will be driving around for quite a while with a big "corvette grin" on your face! Welcome to the Forum. They are great for learning more about vettes and you will meet a lot of new friends. :cheers
You will really like yor Vette in sunny FL. Just watch out for the love bugs! The 2nd season is right around the corner. (Do NOT leave the bug splats on your car more than 12 hours / buy a nose mask.)
