well i just bought my first Vette. its a 84 Vette of course with the crossfire set-up(oh god). haha anyways i bought the car not running for $1600. its black on black and has a pretty recent paint job(not the best) and looks like new seats and carpet.
i changed the plugs, wires, cap, rotor, coil and messed with the timing and tried turning it over and it fired up. i still have so mess with it a little more cause its not running all that great.
heres some pics of how it looks. im taking off the wood grain stuff.
im hoping on making this another award winning car. then itll be my second trophy car ive owned.
thanx everyone and YES 1st vette it does stand for Raccoon Police Department. only because when i get some wheels theyre gonna be black and it made me think about the SUV's they had in the movie and im just in love with the resident evil franchise.

Welcome and congrats on a nice looking 84CF. Now, get your tail on over to the http://www.crossfire.homeip.net/ forum and start asking questions on how to get that CF running correctly.
Congrats on the 84 vert!! You will be driving around for quite a while with a big "corvette grin" on your face! Welcome to the Forum. They are great for learning more about vettes and you will meet a lot of new friends.
thanx alot guys i jsut dropped her off at my mechanic to have it looked at cause i jsut dont have time or tools to mess with it. it didnt want to hold a decent idle and was running rich as hell.

Unfortunately, unless the mechanic really knows how to work on a CF, you may be wasting your money. The CFI is a very "unique" system and very few people know how to work on them correctly.
Good luck and I hope you get it foxed properly. Drop by the CFI forum.
well went to get it back and good news and bad news
GOOD: it was actually idling
BAD: i think it has a blown head gasket. the radiator has a hole, it overheated at idle, and when i was changing the plugs 2 of the cylinders had brown water in them.
so anyone have a detailed description on how to change them?
