Default Hey

Hey all, names Troy and I'm in Texas. I have recently decided to buy me a vette and get rid of the WS6, and am in the market for a 01-04 Z06... I was wondering if there are any dis-benefits to buying an 01 over the others?

Thanks for all the future help you guys will hand out to me .

Welcome to the forum!
If you can, try to get the last of the C5 series - the 04 model. Not much difference (except for the 01) so I think you'll be happy with any of them.

Any particular reason to stay away from the 01? Its going to be HP TT'd anyway so the 20hp power difference doesn't mean much to my heart lol.

I believe there was a different climate control unit in the 01- from the 02+ C5.

Thanks for the welcome everyone.

Nobody is against the 01's? I am about to hop off the cliff and don't want to look back on this as a "shoulda bought a --" lol.

Other than the HP difference on the stock car, the only difference is an improvement in the suspension. This is not very significant, so if the stock HP doesn't matter, I'd say go for any of the 01 - 04 years that you can get a deal on.

Well I've found an 01 that looks to be a steal, but I was really trying to get an 02 because of the dual climate control, and the HUD. Being an 01 it does not have the DCC and it does not have the HUD which are both negatives to me.

Are great condition 02's or 03's difficult to find with less than 50k miles for the 26 to 27k range? I am out for a bone stock one so that makes the search even more difficult.

Oil issues (bad OEM rings) were a problem on many of the '01's.

Verify (through GM dealer via the VIN) the one you are buying either was not in the VIN range of the problem, or it was taken care of by GM under warranty.
