Default 1989 vette
[B]hi, my name is dave, im in turlock, ca, i have a 1989 vette, slight problem i think, the service engine light comes on after about 50 miles of driving it,, then i stop shut it off and it goes away, could this be the egr valve ?

Welcome to the CF, on the check engine lite, find someone or buy a code reader which can also erase your error code.
