I was atleast happy to see it go to someone who would appreciate it as much as I had. I plan on mending my broken heart with a new JetStream Blue C-6 sometime in the near future! I'm sure I'll have plenty to talk about when that time comes!

Cheers, Jeff
That 21 year old is me! haha...long time no see, Jeff. I swear I'll stop by one of these days to get that numbers matching block off of your hands! I'm not sure if I'll ever use it but like you said before, always good to have in case I ever sell it (fat chance!) So far the car has been treating me well, and that "gleam" in my eyes hasn't gone away.

Here's some of the stuff I've done so far: The dry-rotted tires had a blowout about a month after I bought the car (yea, scared me to death!), so all of those are brand new. I've mostly done work on the interior (New oyster seat covers that i basically stole on ebay for $80, and pretty much 100% of the console..door latch covers, all the lenses...you wouldn't even recognize it), with other minor fixes here and there as they come up. The a/c blower system is all working again. First off, the blower motor relay was shot, so that got replaced...then I figured out that none of the flaps were working. I tracked the vacuum leak down to the a/c heater vacuum control switch. Ended up splicing it out of the system and installing a ball valve to shut off the water flowing through the heater core since I only drive it in the summer. The headlights were stuck up because of a leaky vacuum relay, which I fixed with the instructions here.. That same site had instructions for fixing the dome light timer, so I went ahead and repaired that..it only cost like $0.50 in parts. My guess is the capacitor had dried out on that control board..i replaced it and the transistor. The alpine stereo that 'was sweet back in the day' is now in my Honda (tape decks are less likely to be stolen around campus) and I modified an original delco am fm 8-track player to have an aux input and a pre-amp output, going to a 1000 watt 4 channel amp hidden in the rear storage to power the speakers. Retro look, modern sound!

The transmission is starting to act up a little (slips out of 3rd gear when cruising) and I was actually going to email you and ask if it ever did anything like that before.

I've been toying with the notion of replacing the entire drivetrain with an LS1 setup and turning the car into a restomod. With the tranny acting up, who knows when the engine will go, and it might just be best to do it all at once.

If you have any older pictures that you can find of the car, I'd love to have a digital copy! I believe you said you had some on daytona beach...it'd be something neat to include on a poster if I ever take it to a show.

hey Dan! Good to hear from you! Glad to hear you're enjoying the car so much, well....except for the blowout. I wonder what was up with that? Low miles on the tires but plenty of age. I guess one is just as bad as the other! Hmmmm.........

I've never been in that transmission other than to change the screen and fluid. Make sure it's level is up as we both know it leaks...........

I did end up buying that JetStream Blue I talked about in this thread. There are some pictures of it somewhere on this forum..........I love it! I couldn't stay away from Corvettes for too long!. Stop by and check it out, we'll go for a spin!

I'll look up some old pictures for you!

Take care!

Well, I was going to ask you about that...I can't seem to get the pan loose. Did you RTV it back on or something? I didn't pry at it too much though, so I'll likely give it another shot when I get time. It stopped leaking completely not very long after you sold it to me, and the level seems to be ok. I replaced the vacuum modulator and checked that it was not leaking, so its not that either.

I hit a paradox: I dont want to work on the car in the winter because its too cold in the garage. I also dont want to work on it in the summer because its nice out and I want to drive!

That's actually how I found you - I was looking through the pictures and saw the familiar picture that was from the craigslist ad. Your new car looks sweet! Wanna trade??
