First Vette - 2003 silver C5
Hello everyone,
Just purchased a 2003 C5 a couple of weeks ago with 85000 miles on it. First vette! Love it!
Joined the Forum and have been reading through the common problems associated with C5's. Mine came with a few issues. Had to get new tires. I picked the Faulken FK452's. Very pleased with the ride. Had to replace a broken wheel stud on front left hub first. A friend was helping with the to do list and took on the stud replacement. Always great to have friends with repair knowledge that participate.
The front radiator support, the big vent-a-hood in the front of the radiator, was missing. A dealer luckly had one in stock and it wasn't to difficult to replace. Visited LG Motorsports and bought the Skip Shift Eliminator.
Had a couple of PCM codes, P1431 and P0410, come up on the DIC when checked. The P1431 is settled down after driving the car with fuel treatment added. The P0410 Is still an issue and I'm working through that one.
I bought the car in Dallas and after driving it back home to Fort Smith, Arkansas I noticed just driving it on the trip home seemed to help loosen things up and it has steadily come back to a very nice performance level.
I have read some really good threads dealing with issues I have and others I didn't know about. The Corvette forum is a very good resource.
I will more than likely have issues to ask about in the near future.
