Default C3 or C4?

I did a search, but it didn't product the results I was looking for, but then again I am sure it was what I put in for the search....Also I wasn'tt sure which of the two forums to post this question...

My wife wants a Vette, and I am willing to get her one, but I would prefer something I can tinker with, but I don't want to be one of those guys that has to search the junk yards for parts because thats the only place you can find them. Of the two, which is easier to find parts for, and to work on?

Welcome to the Forum!!!!!!! Advance congratulations to your wife! I hope both of you enjoy the Forums.

As said above, post your question in both the C3 General and C4 General Forums. Each will give you the good opinions of one and bad opinions of the other. There will likely be some C4 owners who have, or have had, C3's before the C4 so they will have the best perspective. Good luck.

I have owned both, and the C4 is a much more comfortable car, rides and handles better then my C3 did. If you buy a C4, buy the best one you can afford. Remember that these are both old cars, and will need some work. If you go for a C4, get the Factory Service Manual, it is necessary in diagnosing problems w/ the car. The C4 tech section will be a big help in fixing any problems you run into.

Good luck w/ your decision, and welcome to the forum.

Randy

Thank you for all the advise. We found a 94 LT1 manual with 90k on the odom. Interior was excellent, minus the typical weather stripping. Came with both Blue acrylic and red hard tops. The exterior paint was in Very good condition and all the joints lined up as they should. The AC didn't work, the wheels did not have any weights on them, the front end needed aligned, and there is a small engine oil leak.

AC was repaired for $45. Charge and schrader valve.
Tires balanced and rims put on correct side
Front End aligned.

The oil leak is going into the shop next week and while they are taking care of that I am going to have them do the MSD.

Picked it up for $8,000 OTD at a Cadillac Dealership
