ours is a similar story in that Colin got his black 03 Z06 in May rather than wait until retirement. Similar also in that I liked it so much more than I ever imagined. our story is different in that last month he also bought one for me. A red 03 convertible. I LOVE it and since we are in Texas, we don't have to put them away for the winter.
Congrats on getting yours and I too am all for enjoying what we can now rather than wait.

I'm in mine because of a bad case of Spring Fever. Best cure ever, as I first discovered when I was 16. S. Louisiana has alot of springlike weather during 3 seasons. I can't imagine have to put it away for the winter
Joni,
You are very fortunate. We can only afford the one. However, I believe, given the choice, she would prefer to ride instead of drive. She has driven it once since we bought it. She really enjoys sitting back and cruising, taking in the experience. I like the 03/04's. Who knows, maybe someday I will trade up and then again I really like the 95. A vette is a vette and I enjoy them all.
It was tough putting it away for the winter. It kinda felt like dropping my kids off at college for the first time. Is that wrong? Oh well. Can't wait for spring. Maybe this way I appreciate it more.

Ps: The smile doesn't go away, get used to it

Karin,
As I told Joni, storing it for the winter is tough. If I am lucky I should be able to get it out late March. But in Minnesota March is a snowy/sloppy month. This year we had very nice weather until mid November, Indian Summer, as we call it. Think of us in the frozen north when you ride this winter.

I'm from upstate NY. I remember all too well those winters. That's why I moved south in the late 70's. I still get those "Spring Fever" and Indian Summer, gotta skip school and drive into the Adirondack Mts., attacks. I hated when the vette and the Sportster got put away for the winter.
I'll send you both some good thoughts for a short mild winter while I'm heading to New Orleans for some fun.
