Welcome to the Corvette Forum - As you've already seen, lots of great information & knowledgeable Vette owners here!
I got a job that required driving stick shift vehicles & learned on the job. . I ground some gears & killed the truck a few times, but you get used to it real quick.
Looks like I am going to end up learning on my corvette when I get it. That's means I am going to have to drag my dad kicking and screaming with my so he can drive it back from where ever.
My dad told me not to worry about hurting the car learning. He said only a moron would suck at it enough to damage the car.

Update: My friend took me out in his Cobalt with a M5 to teach me to drive a manual. I think I did ok. The only time I stalled it was when I tried to heel toe it, when I stopped on a hill. I didn't do any bunny hoping or anything either. I drove around for like 30 to 40 minutes. I figured it would be a lot harder than that. He is going to take me out tomorrow to so I can get some more practice.
Looks like I have found a car too. STLKillerC5's 2000 Pewter coupe w/ 62K miles on it. I'm going down to St. L Friday to look at it and buy it (presuming I don't find any issues, I doubt I will).
