GDAY all,
im just curious what year and model nikki sixx's corvette is in the motley crue VHS video called MOTLEY CRUE UNCENSORED?? i remember in the video it is black and he does a skid at a traffic lights, it looks like a 1987 vette? am i right? anyone help me out please? im from Australia and looking at to get one down the track.
thanks.
Luke.
Hello and welcome to the forum. I am not familiar with the particular video you mention but I am sure if you can find a link to the video and post it here, someone will be able to identify the car.
Okay ... slow day here at work and I was a bit curious so I took a little time to find the video on Youtube. The car appears at 3:17 in Part One.
The car driven by Nikki Sixx is a black/black C4 coupe. It has the first design rear fascia so that narrows it down a bit, its a 1984-1990 model. I can't see the dash to pinpoint the year more exactly. The aftermarket wheels look like the ones that Weld used to make.
I will put a link to the video on this post in case someone more familiar with the C4 generation cars can add more info.
okay thanks, im not too good at links at the moment mate, just got a new laptop so still learning all the bells and whistles on it. yeah mate, thats the video clip of it. thanks for that.

Welcome to the Corvette Forum - 1984 Model had "Cross Fire Injection" script on body moulding above side fender vents & I don't see it here (although not a top quality video), so probably not a 1984.
The script went away in 1985. In 1986 the Center High Mounted Stop Lights (CHMSL) made their Corvette debut just in front of the rear glass & I didn't see it either - so my guess is it's a 1985 Corvette.
wow. okay great that helps me out heaps. thanks again! ive just brought my first block of land this week and aim to build a new house within 12 months and get my dream car, a corvette as well. here in Oz everyone has holden monaros, SS's and *** crap. i want something that will stick out like dogs ***** and blow em away. i love the shape of the '85 to 87 vettes, just pure ecstasy. again thanks for ur help and i will keep in contact and let youse know how things go, if i have any questions regarding bodywork, parts etc i will ask. thanks.

Other opinions?
The missing brake light on the roof definitely makes it '84 or '85 and I can't see the script on whether the side moulding says Crossfire or Tuned Port. And since that video came out in 1986, I'd say the car is a 1985.
BTW Luke, would you have to convert to right hand drive? I know some areas of Australia require RHD.
wow thanks Dave, yeah mate a few states in Australia require special certificates to drive LHD, thankfully in my state of Victoria you dont need to. There are a few '84 - '85 'vettes around here for sale, my hunt continues. im enjoying learning more and more about corvettes in the mid 80's era. thanks everyone!
