I'm a 27 year old middle school teacher in Louisville who just "inherited" a '64 convertible from my wife's mother near Effingham, IL (home of Mid-America Motorworks). It is in pretty good shape. I will get some pics on here soon. I think it has 104,000 miles on it based on its condition and odometer reading.
My plan is totally restore this baby gradually all STOCK. The thing has been driven about 5 times in the past 7 years, so it needs some TLC.
I have lots of questions about these particular cars regarding restoration. Hopefully I can get some of these questions answered. I will repost these on the proper threads, but just in case someone reads this, my initial questions are:
1. Where can I get a GREAT repair manual for my 64?
2. What ($$) should I get my car insured for?
3. What is the best website to get stock or OEM parts?
4. Any specific problems I need to be aware of before I begin restoration? (i.e. parts that are impossible to order, things that need replaced immediately)
Welcome to the Forum!!!!!!!!!! Congratulations on acquiring your C2!! The first Vette I ever drove was a '64 roadster. Best of luck with the restoration project. Enjoy the car and the Forums.

Most of your questions can be answered in the C1/C2 section as was mentioned above.
For the first two questions:
1. I suggest you use Helms books/manuals
2. Get a classic car insurance such as Hagerty where you can specify an agreed upon car value.
Congratulations on your Classic Corvette & Welcome to the Forum! As you'll see there's lots of great information & knowledgeable Vette owners here! Glad to hear another classic will be brought back to life!
