Help trying to replace steering column lock cylinder
Hello, I am new to the site but have been a Corvette fan from birth. Here is my dilemma; I pulled the steering wheel on my 1985 Corvette to replace the broken lock cylinder, key ignition switch. Got it replaced and started putting things back together but haven't figured out how to compress the upper bearing spring to install the carrier assembly, steering shaft lock and "C" clip retainer. Is there a special tool that I need to get this back together? I have done everything I can think of, gone to all of the local auto parts store for advice but to no avail. Now I turn to the experts for the answer and direction. Please help, I miss driving my sweetheart. Thanks Whiz
I see you posted in the C-4 section & got some good answers - that's what this forum is all about. Lots of good information & knowledgeable Corvette owners here!
