It's 1971, I'm 13 years old. My father's best friend stops in with his new 911 and takes me for the tire squealing, high speed ride of my life...............I'm hooked and at that moment I decided, someday I will own a 911.
Fast forward to 2011. I'm 53 years old and I have finally reached that point of my life where I have the time, room and money for a second car. I take a ride to the local Porsche dealership. I was giddy with excitement as I took the 911 Carrera out for my first test drive.
The 911 was nice, but nothing special, maybe I was expecting to much. I left the Porsche dealership disappointed, almost heart broken.
Then I saw it, sitting next to me at a light, the hood read 427 the fender Z06 and the lines of the car were the sexiest thing I have seen this side of Maranello. I had a new love
Two weeks later I purchased a mint 2006 Silver Z06 from Chevy21.
The test drive had not been a disappointment.
Cheers, from a newbie that resides in King of Prussia, Pa.
Welcome to the forum. I know exactly what you felt about the 911. I had the same impession when I took it for the ride. Still don't understand what's the whole fuss about the 911.

One has to admit the germans bit vette in quality of interior. That's fact but you don't buy such a car for quality of the interior but fun of driving it and that's where the vette is much better.

Yeah - I tell people "it's still a Chevy" . . . If GMC made the Corvette it would probably have a nicer interior lol.
I bought a used '05 A4, added a couple of bolts-ons and the car goes 12.0s and gets 26 mpg on the ride home from the track - all for a total investment for less than 30K.
Corvette is not only a stellar performer but where else can you get that much bang-for-the-buck?

BMW makes a super nice and comfy sedan with more than adequate performance, great in the snow with the AWD. I will let you drive Patty's Bimmer next time you stop by.
