Finally got my Z06...
I'm happy to say that I'm now a part of the Corvette family now that I've finally put a C6 Z06 in my garage after lusting for Corvettes my whole life. It's a black '09 with 3LZ package. The car's stock, for now.
I haven't had time to properly detail the car yet for photos, so I'll take the ones the previous owner took for the sale ad:
Initial plans are to fix the things that are driving me nuts....
I'm not a fan of chrome (no offense to those who are), so I'll be getting rid of these for something dark gray or black and accompanying that with dropping the car an inch or so to get rid of some of the wheel gap.
The stock seats are disappointing, and I'm eyeing the Caravaggio Daytonas, but am still trying to figure out if Recaro Sport Toplines will fit.
Steering wheel, shift boot/****, ebrake boot/**** are way too cheap-feeling for a car like this, so hopefully Caravaggio can help me out there too.
The stock Bose system is a joke, so I've got an Alpine V12 amp and Boston Acoustics ProSeries separates and subwoofer ready to remedy that... still trying to decide on a new head unit, though.
Power adders I'm holding off on until I get a couple of track days under my belt with the car in stock form. Brake and suspension upgrades will follow, once I've determined what I need most for my driving style at track days.
This thing is just way too much fun, and I can only see it getting better!
So, now that the Corvette part of the intro is done, here's how I ended up in the Corvette, a photo essay:
After growing up a fan of American muscle, my first car was a 1986 Trans Am 305 TPI, which I wasn't responsible enough to handle.

Following a miserable Saturn sedan and a 1994 Grand Cherokee (that I still have today and has since become a trail rig)...
I've had a string of Audis...
...from a 1994 90 S (2.8L V6, 170HP, FWD, 5-speed manual)...
...to a 1999.5 A4 quattro (1.8t, 150HP stock/240HP upgraded, AWD, 5-speed manual)...
...to a 2001 S4 I took from a stock 250HP to over 500HP (~360awhp on 91, ~450awhp on 109)
...and an '08 RS 4 to which I've just said a sorrowful goodbye.
I decided that while I'm still young and dependent-free, I should enjoy the two-seater while I still can, and I can get another performance sedan down the road when family needs require it.
I've still got a beater/project 1997 A4 1.8t quattro for the few wet days we have in San Diego, so I'm not quite Audi-less.

The Best of Corvette for Corvette Enthusiasts
Getting rid of those chrome wheels for some black ones will help with the looks in my opinion; blacked out C6Zs are mean! I suggest picking up a set of Michelin Pilot SuperSport rubber when you swap the wheels. Aside from the cup tires that Michelin makes (3,000-5,000 mile life), they're the best street tire you can get for these cars.
I love the Caravaggio Daytonas in the C6! Just be careful if you're very tall because they ride an inch or so above stock height, so some taller guys have trouble with helmet clearance.
Have fun

Congratulations on your great looking C6 Z!! Quite a first Vette!! Enjoy the car and the Forums.
