Anyways, I am in Central Florida and just purchased my first Corvette. I found it just north of Orlando, a nice deep torch red c4 with only 35,500 miles on it. It looks great but it is 18 yrs old and needs a few small things. (In no particular order)
1: the passenger window falls backwards and hit the B-pillar if I put it up to fast. I almost HAVE to put it down before closing the door. Do I need a new window regulator? Or is there a cheaper way? http://www.mamotorworks.com/corvette-3-30-8514.html
2: the FUEL reset button it missing on the dash. No biggy.
3: BIGGY!!! One of the previous owners REMOVED THE FX3!!! Actuators gone Bilsteins gone! The shocks say "The One ROADSENSING" and they are black. Does anybody know anything about these? I'm still looking for info. I would like to re-install the FX3 and in a matter of hours I have had several member reach out to me. THANK YOU!! (Opinions on the FX3 vs aftermarket would be interesting)
4: Seems like the rear, driver side wheel bearing needs fixin. I jacked it up and did the wiggle test. It wiggled a little. I noticed something weird, when I lowered the car and removed the jack, it didn't lower all the way until I drove it a up the block and back. Car drive great, but I dunno how long it has been this way.
5: I just noticed today when checking the wheel bearing, those circles where the rear wheel "camber adjustment" is, they do not match up. I haven't had a chance to look into that issue yet.http://www.racecars360.com/Corvette_...uspension.html
6. Um...oh, the glass roof needs replacing. It has those age cracks. Still works. No big deal. Last item on my list. There is a place in Texas that you can swap with for around $550, but I can't find them anymore...damn memory. Should have written down their name!!!
ALL help I have received so far has been greatly appreciated. Any other help you guys/gals have to offer will also be greatly appreciated. I am currently looking for a trustworthy shop to bring it to for the wheel bearing and possibly rear suspension. I figured I would replace the bushings, just because they are old, at the same time. I have gone to Maurice's (http://www.mauricesauto.com/) for paint work in the past. He has a massive body shop and the owner has like 15 classics that he has brought back from the grave. Unless anybody has some good suggestions, I think I will talk to him.
Anyways, I looks forward to getting to know ya on and hopefully offline.
