I am in the market to purchase my next car, and I am leaning heavily toward a Corvette. My husband and I have owned and currently own many sports car - for example, my non-daily driver is a 2010 Camaro SS and my DD is a 2006 Mustang GT.
I retired my 9 year old Dodge Intrepid recently due to mechanical issues after having it since 2003. Sadly, it only had 86,000 miles and was well taken care of.
Now that my kids are older, I am now looking for a fun DD that will be reliable, dependable, and have longevity. I had a 1979 Camaro with 216,000 miles on it years ago and am looking for another car that can break the 200,000 mark with minimum maintenance.
I am looking at the C6s. I really love the look and feel of them. I test drove one last week. I am wondering how they stack up compared to Mustang and Camaros. Could I project 150,000+ miles on the car with good maintenance and moderate driving habits?
I appreciate your feedback and look forward to reading the post on this forum.
Thanks for the welcome messages. I am ready to learn everything I can about the 'vette. I have to be honest. I really didn't want to like a Corvette. It just seemed so cliche to have one, but after I drove one, I understood why it had such a following. I feel in love. Now, I wish I had driven one years ago.
It is great to hear that these cars can hold up for the duration. I plan on my next car going for at least 15 years with me. I don't put high miles on a car, but I definitely want something that will age gracefully.
