I felt like I was royally ripped off when I opted to have black headlamp doors installed instead of the stock silver. The General wanted $540.00, which is ridiculous, since the parts and labor are identical, just a different color.
Still, I knew it would make a dramatic difference in the look of the car, so I went for it. Glad I did, but still feel like I was taken.

I have been on the hunt for black headlights for my boyfriend's silver C6, and the best price I can find around is over $1,000. Talk about a highway robbery!
I completely agree that the cost is ridiculous period. I am curious why GM did not offer this as a regular, inexpensive option for any Vette to begin with!

GM does offer it as an option. You have a choice of several colors when you order the car, and I did choose the "black" option, and they charged me $540.00 for them. Suddenly that sounds reasonable compared to the prices you're getting.
