Hi. I have owned several Vettes in my life- a 72 LT1, 87 2 tone, 90 coupe, 92 convertible, 95 coupe, 99 coupe, 2000 coupe, and lastly, for now, a 2001 convertible. At 67 years old, I am thinking of one last Vette, probably a C6. My question is this; because of arthritic knees, a manual tranny is probably ly not the way for me to go, but I do like finding em myself. When did GM start putting the paddle shifter automatics in the Vettes? I am awaiting delivery of my Black book, but the curiousity is overwhelming. Thank you for any help.
Thank you. This helps me limit my search. Another question- knowing that GM tended to user their customers for research and development, were the 2006 auto trans okay? My 2001 was a screaming lemon.

Never had any problems in 3.5 years, 36K miles, with the Monterey Red 06 coupe I had with the automatic tranny and paddle shifters.
