Well this isn't how I wanted to start out my Corvette Forum experience but I've already run into trouble with my project and need the expertise of the Forum. I have an '84 I bought out of storage a couple of years ago and have been driving and upgrading it since. It has been the victim of a lot of neglect and bad work in years past apparently. I sent my 700r4 in for rebuild at a local shop this week and the shop just called and told me the case was warped from heat and I'd have to replace it with an 87 case which would lose my TQ lockup in all gears but overdrive. When it failed the fluid was fine (not burned) and it never smelled hot. It was also still working somewhat. Has anyone heard of this "warped case" thing or should I go pick up my parts and take it somewhere else? Looking forward to sharing pic's and getting tuning/porting advice from some of the CFI guru's here. Yes I'm a purist and I have too much paint work into my CFI hood to change it now. I will try to get some pictures up in the next day or so. Thanks in advance for all the great advice
