From sunny west australia. Have been in the background for quite a while and have finally made the leap. My missus provided the shove.
Picked up a 73 coupe and shall enjoy tinkering in the years to come. I am thoroughly impressed with this forum. Such a great community spirit.
First cab off the rank will be figuring out the a/c problems. The previous owner says it just needs gas. hmm.
So, thanks in advance to all out there. I have no doubt I'll be drawing on your wealth of knowledge on a daily basis.
Eric, looks can be decieving. she's been garaged a long time. The bloke said she was an 'honest car' and I have to believe him. I have been checking out the forum for what to look out for and was overly critical after the first inspection. I took a mate from Maryland on the second look and test drive and he said 'There aint no major rust anywhere Scotto so whats up your ***'
Point taken so I bought it. All original but in 'left in garage status'. Will have a fat old time cleaning her up. Fair bit of history too

Just drove it home and it's a bit of an oddity in W.A
Thought it was running hot so took my subaru to airport with missus driving while I read some of the original paperwork. Found out it's spose to run at 230 degrees.
Man did I feel dumb. And my girl was so looking forward to the trip.
Paperwork goes back to the start with a lot of it in seperate plastic sleeves to preserve it.
And as for sbc vs bb. That puppy is some super responsive sh**
You can keep your three five o's . No offense
I have died and gone to heaven
Some muppet put aftermarket pedals on it and my trainers got caught between the loud pedal and the brake coming into a round about. For those that witnessed it, I have no doubt my street creds went thru the roof.
And who would think a 40 y.o. car could handle like that??
Personally, I damn near messed my trousers.
The missus reckons it looked mint.
I can't find it in me to tell her the truth....yet
I cannot believe I have waited this long. Chose a '73 for the look after much toing and froing. Just completely dig that shape.
Plus a bb
Plus a 4 speed
We've got some nice cars here in OZ but nothing does it for me like this old girl.
Have'nt had this much blasting powder under the foot since my old charger too!

I hope all is well and thank you for responding.
Maybe one day I will get to start a tart up thread with the '73
My cuz recently sold his 2009 vette with all the fruit(or as it was told to me)
My brother runs a 2010 porsche r4 (g4? s4? who cares) and he reckons that the vette was no good coz it did'nt stick to the road thru the gears. He can drive but that is where we differ. My eldest brother backed me with this old chestnut:
"There is no substitute for cubes boy"
