Default Hey from Atlantic Canada

Hey guys, first off im not sure if i will be overly welcome here but honestly signed up hoping to get some good information on my build.

A little about that.

I bought my first piston engine (LS1) from a junk yard thinking it to be a great motor for my build. Keep in mind i said first piston engine. fast forward 1 year and i have totally rebuilt the engine to run with everything new other than a couple bolts and piston heads.

I own an 1992 Mazda RX7 from Japan. Its the FD body style and the first year they made it in japan (we didnt get the FD until 93) I spent lots of time and money on the rotary but decided i wanted to do a new project and jumped at the chance when i saw this 500 dollar ls1. if i could go back in time i would not have bought the engine because it was a mess. also i have a huge over stock of parts because i assumed that all v8 parts from the ls motors fit each other... sigh not so much.

anyway to most of you im just a kid (24) but this is my hobby and the motors been built from the ground up by me and runs so thats cool. ill be searching the boards for tuning information etc and also maybe do a write up on my ITB build that so far has cost me under 100 dollars total.

Hope to make some friends but if i do need a corvette i keep to lurking.

Thanks Will

Thanks guys ! Here is a little shot of the project

As a side note I know a large group of people hate swaps like this but keep in mind I did the whole rotary thing from stock to twins to single turbo now I wanted to get a new project and expand my base knowledge to more than triangles. So I didn't do it because I think Pistons are better or the LS is the best motor I just did it because it looked fun and I wanted to get my hands dirty.

I have had some help welding some mounts but most of the stuff was built by me.

Hey guys a little update I finally got the car back on the ground again and it moves! Only problem is I forgot to bolt my tie rods in... Which makes steering not possible haha anyway here is a quick little link to a video of some tuning and the car running. I am able to check a lot off my list for finishing the swap but then add so many more things to it. But at least I'm on the home stretch.

Also is there a place I could make a build thread instead of doing it here?

You wouldn't happen to be from Newfoundland would you ?
I also have a LS1 FD, let's compare notes sometime. If you search this Intro forum for RX7 you will find my post.
