New C4 Owner
And take up Corvettes.
I might not be fasting correctly, but anyways, I am now the proud owner of a 1984 silver/black corvette. It might be a piece of junk, but it's my piece of junk. And hopefully it will be more than that soon. Be prepared for lots of stupid questions as I try to figure out what all has been done to the car and how to put it back to stock. Thankfully the engine appears to be untampered with.
Pictures will be coming after I make dinner for my wife, who actually let me buy the car (she comes from a "cars = tools" background).

The Best of Corvette for Corvette Enthusiasts

Congrats. on your '84 C4.
First, some pics in the garage (the only place she'll be until the window and trim is repaired).
If it looks great I swear it's because of the bright lights. Not that it's ugly... It just needs some detailing... And maybe a repaint. Can detailing fix 6" paint chips? I'm still pretty new to this car thing.
As you might see in the pictures above, the driver headlight is missing it's bezel. I have it, I just need to get some screws. But before that can happen, I have to drive the car so the CE code can set (I unplug the battery when I'm not driving). But of course, right when I was going to drive it, the rain came. No problem, you think, just close the headlights. Yeah, about that. See image below (pardon the mess in the vent).
After taking the trim off you can see that the headlight switch hole is completely cracked and destroyed. After thinking through some bubba solutions (duct tape, cardboard) I remembered that Home Depot is a mile away. After a quick trip I had a much better solution.
Washers! That should hold it for... ever, hopefully.
After the test drive, I found that code 21 was being tripped. TPS HIGH error. That doesn't sound too bad. I'm pretty comfortable with sensors and stuff. I spent today pumping the tires up from 20 psi (they need to be replaced but no sense risking my rims) and hunting for the TPS. I found it just in time to leave for the airport. I want to go on vacation... But I really want to work on my Corvette. At least there's a chance my shop manual will have arrived when I return.
