Waves from a new C3 owner
Howdy y'all! I purchased my first vette last week. Well, that's not technically true. My Daddy and his brother worked out this deal when I was about 12. My Daddy would buy me a car my uncle would buy me the boat. They both followed through, but they caught me on the details. I got a Barbie boat and a model Corvette. I sure put the thing together, though. It was probably somewhere not too long after 1981, come to think of it...
Back to the matter at hand. I'm very excited about this new car!
It's in mostly really great shape, less than 85k miles and needs some work. What car doesn't at that age? But we got it at a fantastic price. My number one project car had been a 1990 Firebird which has a long sentimental history, but a worse mechanical history. It was time to let it go and trade in the Bird for my number one dream car. I'm still wrapping my head around the fact that it's actually happened.
I've been doing a lot of searching about how to do this, or what about that thing, or how do you find someone who does this stuff still, and I always land back here. So I thought I'd introduce myself and say hey. I might not talk too much, other than to utilize that search box to death,
but I'm grateful to all of you who have come before who are passing the torch to folks like me
so we can keep the things we learn going forward.
I'm totally freaking out actually and need any help anyone is willing to provide! Regardless, I will do my solemn duty to wave,
as long as I'm not freaking out behind the wheel and being too busy paying attention to the road, because at a couple weeks shy of my turning 41, my Daddy said to me, "I just hope you've learned to drive responsibly, those are the cars that kill people." We never stop being their little girls, but maybe it's time to stop putting on makeup while I drive?
Totally kidding! I only do that at stoplights! (He works for State Farm and I learned very young what 'just changing the radio,' or 'reaching for something,' or 'putting on makeup ' looked like. I may give him a bit of a hard time about our growing up dinner conversation, but the points hit home.)
So please don't be offended if a really sexy cream colored Stingray isn't waving just yet. I'm still bowing down to your awesomeness!
