Ok, don't think there was anything inappropriate in it, so no idea how that happened.
Shorter this time.
Hi. New. Africa. Depending on what happens over the next week or so, I may emerge from the shadows a bit more forthrightly and become active here.
I have an opportunity to make an offer on a stunning 1959. I think it's the 469 (i.e. The 245hp jobbie) which is something I will obviously need to establish. It's a 2x4bbl carb model, with the original three speed transmission.
I am intrigued by the three speed transmission, on a V8 4.6 litre engine. I want to drive this car as often as I can, but prefer origininality over practicality and convenience. I recently bought a 1963 Series 1 E Type, and am having the original Moss gearbox (voluntarily) refitted to replace the 5 speed modification, despite the fact that the non-synchro first and double-declutching will of course be less convenient for me when I try to drive her often.
If the pros and cons of the three speed transmission are discussed fully in some other thread I could not find, I should appreciate being directed there and apologise. If people don't mind addressing my query here, please let me have your views on the drivability of the three speed. Is it a serious drawback, or is it, like the old Moss box, a fascinating and marvellous quirk of this lovely piece of machinery that just adds to the fun?
Helluva long first intro post disappeared I composed a monster intro and it disappeared.

Your other post was here, but after reading it just now I moved it over to the C1/C2 Corvette section since you were asking a question that would best be answered there. Nothing was wrong with your post, it was just in the wrong section IMO.
Anyway, welcome to the forum and check in the other section for your answers (you can click on the link that is still in this section and it will take you to the new section).
