New Member - my first American car
Hello. I bought a new 2018 Stingray Coupe Z51 2LT three months ago. I really had no plan to get a Corvette but I figured with the mid-engine version coming out soon I'd just go look at a C7 for fun. Well, I fell in love with the particular one I ended buying. It didn't hurt that the dealer kept lowering the asking price and I ended up getting it about $9.5k off MSRP...they basically made me an offer I could not refuse...lol. It's Blade Silver with Adrenaline Red interior and black wheels with red brake calipers and black badges/trim.
I've been buying cars for 42 years and this is my first American car...not a shabby way to start, huh? I still have my beloved 2003 BMW E39 530i and a 2002 Toyota Tacoma S-Runner. This gives me an international trifecta...one vehicle that is arguably the best German sports sedan; one vehicle that is a great Japanese sporty pickup truck; and now the best American muscle sports car.
Oddly for me is that this Corvette is my first automatic transmission car in many years...both my BWW and S-Runner are manual transmissions. I never imagined I would get any Corvette with an auto slush box but I must say I really enjoy it the way it is and I do not regret getting an A8.
I've been lurking on this great and informative Corvette forum for a few months and decided it's time I officially join.

Thanks to everyone for welcoming me here. The Corvette is a blast to drive. It's a beast...in a good way.
