hi, just picked up my first corvette. 82 all original crossfire. person said wasn't running so went to look at it. changed the fuel pump fuse, after I exchanged money and papers, and put a battery in it. started up. ran bad, did a tune up ran great. except sometimes, more often then not, it fluctuates 500-700 rpm at idle. was worse till I changed out fuel filter. car was sitting for couple years in the not running mode only to be tried starting by using starter fluid. I'm thing replace regulator, is there something else I should look at?

The computer. My 82 Collectors displayed various symptoms twice. Once refusing to fire at all. Anther time running so rich it died at stop lights. Both times the computer was the fault. Unfortunately new ones are no longer available, you'll have to locate rebuilt ones, cross your fingers and hope the rebuilt one doesn't fail just out of warrantee like mine did.
