new member and new to corvettes
Hi, my name is Bobby and i live in northeastern West Virginia. I am a first time corvette owner although i have drolled over corvettes all my life. stumbled upon a barn find last year that needs a total makeover. 283 block is cracked so putting in a 383 stroker, body needs work, interior needs replacing, etc etc. Lots of work needed to bring her back to life but i am excited about the project. i am sure i will have questions during this journey and hope to leverage the knowledge and good spirit i have already noted in browsing the Corvette Forum.
Would someoen describe the additional forum access one has with a paid membership?

When first looking at a Corvette, it is very easy to become enamored with horsepower numbers and not realize what the entire car concept is all about. I strongly suggest you drive a number of C6's of different models and compare them against each other. Unless you plan on racing, you can spend an awful lot of money on horsepower you will never be able to use and could get you into instant trouble if you don't know how to handle it. With your budget, you can move into the 2009 era LS3 engine which seems to be just about bulletproof compared to earlier years of the C6. I purchased a 2011 GS 3LT C6 and got a car that has amazing performance in acceleration and handling. I added a Vitesse throttle controller and have decided to focus on exterior body enhancements and leave the engine alone because this thing has more than enough horsepower for the street.

Welcome to the forum Bobby, post some pictures when you get a chance. As for the paid membership, the bigger differences seem to be bigger storage for private messages, fewer ads and bigger avatar next to your name. Also you can get some stickers and other physical memorabilia it seems.
