I have been monitoring this forum for about a week after seeing pictures and learning details of the new 2020 C8. I bought a 1997 C5 in June 1997, 3 months after it came out, I had a lot of quality problems with that vehicle and got rid of it 18 months later. I was completely anti-Corvette due to my issues. Now, I am back and cannot wait to learn more about the C8 and probably get one in 2021.
When I got my 1997 Corvette, I was engaged and 5 months from my wedding. As a result, my then to be wife was a part of my less than great experiences with my car. She heard all the complaints and saw many of the issues. Now, 20+ years into my marriage, she is incredulous that I would even mention the word "Corvette," let alone consider buying another one! I guess I have over a year to soften her up.
It is great to be back. I love the enthusiasm and activity on this forum.
Glad you gave it another chance. I think quality has gone up with the new cars but anything made by humans can cause problems. I've had good luck. The C8 will be #3. Welcome to the forum.
Welcome back and I think you will enjoy the C8. Like ANY new platform, the FIRST model year of any car, may have the same growing pains as your first C5. I purchased a new early production 98 C5 MN6 Coupe. It also had growing pains. Not as bad as the 1997 cars.
Now I have an 02 ZO6 and it amazing.
We also had an 06 Z51 MN6 Coupe which was an excellent car. We have an 11 Grand Sport Vert. ZERO PROBLEMS so far. KNOCK ON WOOD!
