Default Georgia Representing!

Been browsing this forum on and off for a while now and since I plan on purchasing a corvette soon, I figured now was the time to join.
I do have a question though, on the general consensus of older corvettes, and need a little help refining my purchase.
Am I able to post it here or is there a board dedicated to such a thing?

Welcome to the Forum!
When you mention a question about older Corvettes, what specific age are you thinking about? People have different ideas of what constitutes an "older Corvette."
If you look up at the top left of the page, you will see "Forums". On the drop down you will see the different generations of Corvettes with the years associated with each generation. That is the best way to get into the right area for your question(s).
Also, most generations will have "Sticky Notes" at the top of the general section which addresses many of the most common questions members or prospective buyers will have. This may help you a little, too.
Best wishes determining the generation Corvette you are most interested in. Hope to see you back soon with your Corvette!

Thank you for the warm welcome!
I guess my 'older' in this case is more middle-age haha.
I have two Corvettes that I'm thinking about purchasing, a '90 C4 and a '00 C5, along with a couple of others. And since it was between the years, I wasn't sure of the appropriate place to ask.
I have been checking out the stickies and they are a ton of help! I'm not sure what it is, but it always seems more reassuring when a person responds with their own input.
Is it okay to make a thread regarding that? I'm sure these get posted all the time and I don't want to add another one to the pile if it's frowned upon haha!

Joshua, I would think one good starting point for you would be to try and have an opportunity to drive each of the models (the '90 and the '00). A lot of people feel the C5 is more comfortable and getting in and out is usually considered easier in the C5 than the C4. (I guess because I'm relatively short, getting in and out of the C4 was no problem). Of course the C5 is a much more updated car than the C4; but, we've had both and enjoyed each generation.
If there are any Corvette clubs in your area you would probably pick up a good amount of insight by talking to owners of each generation there. You can look for car events, and possibly Corvette club information by checking in the regional directory at https://www.corvetteforum.com/forums...-discussion-9/.
And, I'm sure members in the different generations will be glad to try and answer specific questions you may have as you try to compare one to another.
Best wishes.

Welcome from a Ga. owner both the 90 and 00 are great corvette's hard to go wrong with ether. I love the C4 platform as its more of a drivers car, but if your planing on lots of long road trips the C5 is nice car a bit more refined than the C4.

Good luck with your hunt and as already said go drive both.

Oh yes, I definitely have to give them both a test drive. I'm looking forward to that.
And thank you for that link, I'll be sure to check it out!

So they do alright in the Georgia weather? I've heard some concerns about them during the winter months, but we don't really get snow/icy that often, or at least in this region.
Thanks for your input!

Welcome to the forum. Feel free to ask your questions in the appropriate sections of the forum - you’ll find the members are very willing to provide advice. Both the C4 and C5 are very good cars, each with different positives and negatives. The suggestion to drive examples of each is very sound. Best of luck in finding the right car for you.

Just great I drive mine year round in any weather with no issues. I put 170K miles on an 04 C5 over a 10 year time frame as a daily driver and well over 350K miles on several C4s in the last 20+ years.
