I've had a couple of Vettes in the past a '62, a '65 and a '75. That was many years ago. I'm back in the market looking for a C4 with manual trans. I'll be asking some dumb questions looking for advice on various year models as I find interesting looking cars. I'll also be asking questions about various mods. Yep, I'm one of those guys that can't leave well enough alone.

Welcome to the forum and good luck in your C4 search. If a manual tranny is a must, I would recommend looking for an 1989 to 1996 - they would have the ZF 6-speed tranny which was a definite upgrade over the 4+3 Doug Nash one from prior years.
Welcome to the Forum, Lyle, and best wishes with your C4 search!
Agree with Vetteman Jack about the 4+3 trans. It was "ok" but we really appreciated moving from this to the true 6 speed in the later C4s. Some people really loved the Doug Nash modded trans but typically I did not notice as much mileage difference as I understood it would produce. That said, if the "worlds greatest C4" had the 4+3 I would still consider it.
