I was hoping to get some advice from you guys. I’m in the market for a C3. However I’m not too mechanically savvy. I am looking for something I can enjoy driving around and work on maintaining..Not so much a fixer upper to restore. I have come across a 1975 Corvette and a 1971. The 75 is obviously 10k cheaper. They both look to be in great conditions. The 71 is a 454 Coupe with matching numbers. The 75 is a 350 Coupe, but I’m not sure about the originality. My question is, which would you recommend I go for. Since I’m just getting into the market/hobby of owning a classic car, I don’t want to overspend and regret it later. I also don’t want to skip on a good opportunity to own a dream car of mine which would be the 71 chrome bumper. Any input would be greatly appreciated. The 71 is going for 25k. The 75 for 15k. Both seem to be good deals to me..
I personally love "corvette orange" and that 75 is a beauty. The 71 is definitely a sexy machine. Either one will turn heads everywhere you go. I think C3s in general have been going up in value recently, so if it were up to me, I'd buy the 75 and keep that extra 10k! You can buy a whole other later C3 for that and have 2! haha...At the end of the day its up to you and your wallet! Good luck!

Welcome aboard. You should post this in the C3 general section to get a better response. My only advice would be to hire an expert to inspect the car before you buy it. These cars are rather old and can have some serious issues that could cost a lot of time and money to repair.

That’s a very good point. I’m probably going to need those extra 10k to make fix any little issues the car may have.
Thanks, Mike

Thanks, I just posted it on the C3 section now. I actually have a third party inspector going to check out the 71 today. Either way, I’m still on the fence about actually buying it. That’s still a lot of money whether the car is worth it or not.
