Hello and thanks to forum members with all the helpful information. A brief history. Many years ago I built a Porsche speedster kit car based on a VW chassis and had other car projects after selling the completed car. I tinkered with motorcycles for a few years also and recently wanted to do another car project to keep my wrenches active. I did own a 1979 Corvette back in 1984/85 time frame. For reasons unknown I've always liked the 82 CE and as things worked out my recent search found one close to me in NE Florida that had been sitting for a number of years. Using information from this forum I checked the vehicle over somewhat and soon realized the task of bringing this CE back to life would be extensive/expensive. I took the plunge and bought it. Cross fire injection, non-running, complete, original 70,000 mile FE7 optioned 82 CE with at least 5 years sitting. The previous owner thinks it was 5 years. She had faced the death of her husband, who was planning on fixing the CE, and no longer wanted it sitting around. The car needs ALOT of work and I am trying to make some strides to bring it back. I have been reading about the c3 stuff on this forum and I am sure won't be long before I have questions to keep me on track. Thanks in advance for help and also for the wealth of info already given on this forum. Today I registered on this forum to gain more knowledge about the CE and look forward to guidance. A challenging road is ahead.
