I recently purchased a 2023 C8/Z51 Corvette and love it!
Have owned a number of other "fun" cars over the years ('75 260Z, '77 TransAm; AC Cobra, reproduction; 2010 Viper ACR and 2005 Ford GT), but never found the right vette at the right time. Not long ago I decided to fulfill one of my "bucket list" items by signing up for a track event by NCM Motorsports Park in Bowling Green where I was able to drive a C8 vette for three, 20 minute track sessions, guided by a driving pro. It was a wonderful experience and pushed me to realize owning one of these awesome cars!
I went to several local dealerships asking to be put on the Z06 waiting list. What was shared with me was that there is so much demand for the Z06 that my wait (even with the deposit) was likely to take 2-3 years.
So, in the meanwhile, I started searching AutoTrader and other sites for a low mile C8 and one day found a 2023 (with 6 mi) at a dealer 191 miles from where I live. It was in the Elkhard blue color that I like, and had all the options (Z51, Convertible, LT2 trim, front end raise, mag ride, etc). I placed a deposit over the phone and 3 days later picked up the car and drove it home to middle Tennessee where I live.
Am retired after working 43 years in the IT profession and enjoy going to cars and coffee events and supporting local car shows that raise money for charities.
When the Z06 does finally come to market and my place in line finally gets called, I still plan to get one but with this current C8, I am enjoying while learning about this mechanical marvel!
