I recently inherited my dad’s ‘86 corvette and so I’ve been lurking around the last couple weeks trying to soak up as much information as possible. I figured I might as well make make the leap and join up so I could really get in on the fun.
On me: I’ve been a gear head as long as I can remember but this is really my first time dipping into the Chevy world. I’ve owned 5 mustangs up to this point and still have my ‘17 Ecoboost and ‘71 Grande, and my current money pit is a ‘97 golf that I’ve been turning into a track car.
The grande in a photo from my wedding. The ecoboost. The beater.
The Corvette itself is a great piece in really good condition, just passed 68k getting it out here to the mountains. It could definitely use some TLC though and that’s where I’ll be recruiting you guys I bet.
Welcome to the forum!! A very nice collection of cars indeed! Your 86 looks to be in excellent condition! Your dad really took good care if the car. How long did he own the car before you inherited it? Does it have the 4+3 manual transmission? Does it have the Z51 RPO code?

Honestly he didn’t get enough time with it, just a couple years with it as the third owner. He did really take care of it and enjoy the time he had with it though.
It’s just the base 86E with an automatic as far as I can tell, but I hadn’t thought to check if it was a Z51 so thanks for the prompt. Someone has done work here and there to it so I’ve been having some fun untangling what’s stock and what’s not.
Welcome to the Forum, Seth!
Condolences on the passing of your father but how nice that he wanted to pass his C4 on to you.
As I am sure you have found there are lots of great members and helpful info in the C4 sections.
Hope you have her all sorted out soon.

Sorry about the loss of your dad. Nice that he left the C4 to you and now you can keep the car up and running like your dad did. And welcome to the forum.
