Default My first Vette

Well, I've enjoyed all kinds of cars over the past 5 decades...
From Triumph TR7's and TR8's, Big block Mopar muscle cars of the late 60's and early 70's (Chargers n Challengers), 66 Shelby Mustang, 04 Mercedes SL600 V12 twin turbo, and now an 11 base Corvette convertible 3LT trim, manual transmission in torch red with 22K miles on her.
Traded in the SL600 for the Vette with hopes that the Vette will not devour my wallet like the Mercedes was so happy to do...

Am looking to learn as much as possible about my new roadster.
She has a Boss Head unit, backup camera, after market ZR1 spoiler, C7 look-a-like chrome rims for the Non-wide body base car and aftermarket LPE Lingenfelder Corsa exhaust system.

So much I don't know about the C6's, just found out that when going slow, you can't go from 1st gear to 2nd and so on, only allows me to shift to 4th. But from what I read that was "engineered" into Vettes to stop the guzzler tax.
First time I ran into that, I thought I had shifter or transmission issues.
Was very happy to hear that the first to fourth gear is "Normal"!
Probably will look to override that "feature" in the future.

Always loved all the Vettes from C2's all the way to the C8's, with great affection for the C4's, C5's and C6's. Fortunate for me, those generations can be had for relatively nice prices!

Glad I found this forum, and hope to learn a lot from all of you.

That is a beautiful C6! I think you will love it. That 1-4 shift "feature" was called CAGS, if I remember it right. You could make the shift from 1-2 if you did it quickly but, if you were shifting at casual speed, it would not allow the shift to 2nd. The best answer to that is to get what I believe is called a skip shift eliminator. It is just a short harness (around $10) that plugs into the transmission. Easy and quick solution to an annoying problem.

Nice find. Looks well cared for and real clean. Barely broken in with only 22K miles.
From the picture, looks like Dix Hills.

Congrats, that first Corvette feeling is hard to beat. I still remember picking mine up and obsessing over every tiny detail for weeks. Random memory — I stopped at a gas station the first night and spent half the time wiping fingerprints because I only had a Sharp https://sharp.pissedconsumer.com/customer-service.html marker in the glove box to label stuff from delivery
