You live in the wrong state or i would give you a hand. They are much easier than an F-body. Pull the valve covers, alternator, and steering shaft and you will be done in no time.

Good luck

I'd probably be able to give you a hand.

Oh yeah, if you're thinking about a tunnel plate, ab of steel or what have you, doing these together is a good idea!

I will let you know. And yes I am doing a tunnel plate at the same time. Probably the 129 one they advertise here all the time. I am buying a 2 1/4 ton floor jack and will have 4 jack stands and ramps. Should have all the tools needed as well. Although anything people want to bring that may help IE impact wrench is apreciated.

I'm game to do what I can but as I said I have not done them on a vette. It would be more of a learning experience for me if that’s cool.

Hey Fright what kind of headers are you using, and are you putting on a complete system or just the headers?

Might want to check this out, if you haven't already, it's for the LG header system, but I followed it when I put my Kooks on, it helped alot

K, I see what the tunnel plate looks like, not really sure what it does other then what LG says about it, never heard of it before, is it really necessary? does it make a difference?

THX

JOE

PS, if your header install is over the weekend, I may be interested, but I am a newbie to 'vette's sooooooooo, I would only be a good wrench turner, not really much info help.

Just a few things, like the proper tools, jack and jacks stand to get it high enough to work under, a creeper, light, either a fender cover or two, or some tape to tape off the fenders so that they don't get all scractched up, die electric grease, for when you put the plug wires back on!

I changed plugs and wires when I did mine

Did I mention that a lift is a big help!!

Joe, The tunnel plate makes the suspension a little more rigid, and it also helps keeping the heat down inside the cockpit, or the box office if it's a female driver

Elite Engineering makes some pretty nice ones and Jeff just came out with a thermal plate to keep even more heat out, check out there site,
Elite Engineering .com, I believe

My tunnel plate should be here on Thursday as well. So it is a ful LG Street system and tunnel plate. We will have a lift and an air impact gun to help losen the bolts. Any help is apreciated. We will be starting on Saturday around 3 om finishing up starting Sunday morning.

Hey EBZ0602 do you still want to help? I would love to hear what your setup sounds like if you come. BTW Goose told me to mention his name as a shameless plea for help
