Anyone interested in driving out to the Black Hills Rally (Spearfish, SD) in July, '07?
I will be heading out about five days before from Long Island, NY and thought that it would be interesting to start picking up other enthusiasts along Rt 80 or 90, or even rt. 30 west of the Mississippi....
With a little planning, we could get a good little "convoy" going on.

Let me know and I will work on some logistics.

Will be heading to San Diego after the rally

I rode out two years ago on the K1200GT and just happened to be going in that direction on the Wed.of rally week. It was really great seeing groups of C cars blowing by at triple digits.
As I was doing the Badlands, Deadwood, Rushmore thing that week, I got to see many enthusiasts from all over the country. Very organized and all nice folks

I've been out there at least half of a dozen times. when I can't make it all the way to Spearfish, I just go to the Wednesday nite thing in Sioux Falls. Definitely worth doing just the one or the whole week end. The caravan out there is half of the fun.

Best hotel for one night before in SF??

If I have time this year I'd love to do it... also from Long Island.

Ran the C6 out through South Dakota last year, then up into Montana, Alberta etc. For details of my trip:

Anyone traveling all the way out to SD from NY should take the time to head up into MT to hit those mountain roads. Your C6 will thank you for it. You will also learn what your C6 is truly capable of, you will experience a whole new level of appreciation and respect for your C6 and for those who designed and tuned it.

count me in! i live in the minneapolis area and would be happy to meet up with your convoy to sioux falls and then head out to the hills! let me know the plan as the time gets closer!

The holiday inn downtown Sioux Falls is where I stay for the one nite because it is within walking distance from downtown where they park all the cars and all the bands and food are.

I got the go ahead from my girlfriend. we are going to convoy with all of you into sioux falls, spend the night there and head out with everyone to the black hills for the corvette rally. we are thinking that we are going to get married while out there at the chapple in the hills. we are excited to get involved with the corvette community. this should be an awesome way to start!

I will probably go to the Sioux Falls car show on Wednesday, but I don't think I will be going on the caravan to the Black Hills.

As noted, we are coming from Long Island, but intend to do some of those great "alphabet" farm roads along the western side of the Miss. valley to Minneapolis on Sun.-Mon., to visit some friends just south of town. (Bloomington)
Then off to SF on Tuesday.
Do you have a special set of roads that you would do to make the trip to SF more pleasurable than the interstate?

I am ok going to sioux falls in whatever way we do. I am from sioux falls and have been on every road imaginable getting there. as long as there are no secondary roads I am fine with whatever! this will be an awesome trip and we are really looking forward to it!

Man, that sounds like fun! What route are you guys from the west coast taking?
