Default "Aussie Run" 09/27/08

Before the weather pushes us into the garage for hibernation let us get in a full day run.

I propose the "Aussie Run". Why is it called the Aussie Run? When viewing the route on a map there is a passing similarity to the shape of the continent down under (see images below).

DATE: Saturday, 09/27/08

DEPARTURE TIME: 10:00 AM MT (BE THERE BEFORE 10:00 AM!!) We have to leave at 10:00 to avoid getting stopped by "Emily's Parade" http://www.iloveyouguys.org/emilys_parade.html

WHERE: Rally at the Denver Marriott West parking lot in Golden. Please group in the most NE corner for both visibility to other arrivals AND to avoid disturbing legitimate hotel business traffic.

-- 1717 Denver West Boulevard, Golden, Colorado 80401 --

ROUTE: 285 SW to 67. 67 South through Pine, Buffalo Creek, Deckers, and Westcreek to Woodland Park. 24 West to Antero Junction. 285 NE through Fairplay and Bailey back to Denver. Google Maps reports this is a 243 mile run.

REST POINTS: 1) Lunch at Woodland Park Sonic 2) Fairplay

DURATION: Per Google Maps this is approximately a 5 hour run. However, this duration DOES NOT account for slow traffic, construction, speed traps, lunch, bullsh***in', or flasks...

Confirmed Attendees: (I am guessing on some of the solo vs. team)
1. Straatien (solo)
2. JSZPNBY (solo)
3. Fright88 (solo)
4. TopCat (solo)
5. Z-07 Freak (solo)
6. EOS 05 (solo)
7. 08CRMVert (team)
8. VettesPlus (team)
9. RAMMAN (team)
10. JBridgett (team)
11. Cornfed (unknown)
12. Junkmn (unknown)
13. 7LitreC5 (unknown)

Approximate Total Humans = 16 (Restaurant Reservations)

Undecided:
14. Cozer1 (solo)
15. Bluezy (solo)
16. Colorado_ZR1 (team)

The Aussie Run:

The shape of Australia:

Look closely and you can just make out him whispering, "They're on this side a quarter mile up, my son".

And he was right too! But alas, the bikers just didn't listen...
