Well drive up to have my c5 Z tested. Told me needed to go back raise car up AND put stock wheels & Tires back on before they will test it. TO PO'D even talk about this, did have that thought about dropping these 2 trailer park guys. walked away and venting here. Sorry
Frustrating. Did you have track tires on? What was the rational behind raising your Vette? I've only been in Colorado for 2 years now, but someone said that you could pay a couple of dollars extra and have your emissions taken when you drive by one of those emissions trucks on on-ramps. Would this help or have they now "tagged" your vehicle with these two items?
I have been there myself. If your car is lowered too much it cannot safely be put on thier dyno. I had to raise the rear of my car up. They say to safely put the car on the dyno there needs to be at least a soda can height off the ground.
The reason being is thier dyno roller actually lowers into the floor when you get on it.
They don't care what wheels or tires you have. Looking at your picture you need to have the height below the rocker panel by the rear brake duct high enough that it is not going to hit the bottom of you car when they lower the dyno roller.

So i guess i need to get maybe just a set of stock rear tires and wheels....think that would do? some times i have a little problem when i see them just pull average car over to the side and do a static test without dyno roller. I admit my approach was just to say ok no argument, decided i was not going to fight it yet. I did contact a state rep. who is against the program,to be honest he listen and talked with me at length he was going to ask a few questions. His concern is that company is using very old technology because they are to cheap to spend the money to upgrade .... cars with very active traction control systems...on and on
They won't bend the rules for you! If the car is other than stock... wheels and ride height, they can make you put it back to stock for testing. Or you can take 10 minutes and adjust the rear lowering bolts and make it a couple inches higher, get the car tested, then adjust back down when you pass the test!
I don't know if the stock tires are a bigger diameter than what you have to increase it enough. You site does say lowered...
In Douglas County ALL cars go on the dyno. They have an AWD dyno test lane. Only truly older cars can get away with the static test and I still think they put it on the dyno. From experience they know a factory stock Corvette can get on the dyno. If yours can't then they know you changed it! Annoying, but it makes sense!
Does the County not run your emmissions testing up there?
Following what Solo2GS says, they're only trying to protect your car (and themselves against liability) from damage by requesting you raise the car up, etc. I know it won't help you this time, but here's something to consider in the year prior to your next emmisions/registration renewal.
I had to get mine tested last fall; I just forgot to drive thru the roadside testing until it was too late.
My car is not lowered and has stock size tires; everything was fine until he tried to do the dyno test.
He couldn’t hold the correct speed and the machine kept making him start the test over.
He got out of the car and I went over to him and asked him what was up? He said he didn’t know why he was over shooting the speed window on the up shift from first.
I told him that his first shift should be from first into fourth gear, as that would be the way my cars computer would make him shift before I disabled the second gear lockout.
He ran it again and said it fast passed because it was running so clean, and he thanked me for the advice.
Next time I plan on running thru the roadside testing as I do my other cars.
In certain states, independant shops used to provide the emission testing. They were easy to work with if you found a mod friendly one. Here, the state/county does it and its not likely to be easy to find anyone 'special' to take care of you!
You should at least try. There's a lot of stuff that passes that people wouldn't think would. Plus you have that exemption deal where you can spend x amount to try to get it to pass.

I almost get OCD about stuff so a lot of phone calls got it handled haven't taken down yet , shop that does all my work told me drop it off he will get it done. Talked at length with a couple of emissions people ,a lot if not all has to do with the common worker not a dig on all but a few, bad days ,bad life ,one manager even told me jealousy Had a guy that was a ricer hated American sportscars...ricer walk though, vette , mustang ect...to low, wrong tires ,cat doesn't look right ,on an on. Screwed with 1 of them when asked about spending money on getting it too pass, does that amount include raising car and buying new tires and wheels (stock ) ??? My man just froze. Will check....

No need to be so diplomatic; it's way more than a few. I can't take the Corvette to get tested without some kind of annoyance, and the thing is pretty much stock. There are tons of Corvettes around town, so I'll never figure out why CAGS or the parking brake are such mysteries to them.
I must be lucky, just took mine in a couple of weeks ago. Was in line for less than 10 minutes and on the machine for less than 5 minutes. Would've been faster but the guy stalled it when he first started, had to restart the test, but it fast tracked. Out in 15 minutes.
