I did the track orientation tonight and become certified (crazy?) solo.
Even with this being a learning session, I got many laps in own vehicle and demonstrated in instructors prepped car. The initial cost is high, but in big scheme of things it will be a bargain for experience and fun.
Track is dead smooth with very interesting corners. Heck, in VW I was hitting 105 on two straights.
Hey No Go, did I read correctly on their site, they are only giving out 150 memberships? If so, do you have any idea how close they are? I'm seriously looking for an enclosed trailer right now and fully plan on a few trips up there this year. Dont want to get stuck broke though so I think trailering would be best. I'll be watching your posts and please feel free to e-mail me anytime if you have info you fell I need to see. Work addy probably best - superchevyparts@att.net. I ordered a harness bar for my car and a new helmet. I think I'm getting sucked into a new hobby rapidly. I'm looking into a new oil pan right now too. Keep in touch - we'll probably meet soon :) .
150 membership limit I found out is each "club." So the 4Nite club has 150, HIPO night has 150, etc. Couple of weeks ago they showed ~50 4Nite members and ~90 HIPO. I don't think they will max out soon, but could be wrong. If you call the number on their website they will be more than willing to give you information-normally Aaron answers the phone-the seemingly head honcho of the track-real nice guy.
Trailer? Why the trailer? The roadcourse is just like the street except a little faster paced:)
Looks like we have some more Corvette owners from Des Moines and Ankeny (Iowa) coming as well-about the same distance I would guess...I think it is well worth it. My brother had a swell time with his Z28. Very little pressure as so far only a dozen cars show up and really spread out on the track-hardly get passed or pass anyone.

You don't know my luck. I could bring it up on a trailer a zillion times and never break a thing. First time I just drive her up... well you know where I'm going! Last thing I want is to get stuck. Besides, I've been wanting a trailer for a long time (along with many other things) and this is the excuse I'm using on my wife so be quiet before she hears you!!! -Jeff
