S.U.Vette has it on his.. he is actually getting it on the dyno today for the first time. I would PM him if you want some real world experience with this kit.. Has been a long road for him since he purchased it around the end of last year.

any dyno numbers??

honestly the kit is alright, not the best, but it works. you will probably have some issues with it at first but when all fixed it should work fine. if its just a stock motor and you are only looking to make 500-600whp then it will be fine.

Ck is right!

Joe sorry I haven't pm'ed you back. Ive been in Wyoming for work. Ill send you a pm with my number.

As for everyone else. I can honestly not find a bad thing to say about this kit. The install was spot on save for one tiny adjustment issue that upp didn't account for and that was the wider z06 tires. Which wasn't a big deal. The support behind the kit from upp is phenomenal. The tuning and e85 conversion were flawless. In fact later this summer I'm hoping to up the boost and try for over 650 rwhp......after I find and ls2/3 short block for just in case

Joe as far as daily driving, I wouldn't hesitate to do it but keep the cats the car really stinks with out them. I would change out the clutch to a stronger one. Also right now the car runs stupid hot. With the a/c on coolant temps climb to 240 and oil is right behind at 230. I am pretty sure my coolant needs to be changed and the radiator needs to be flushed to bring the temps down. I'll try that before getting a bigger radiator and a cooler thermostat installed.

230 oil temp is not a big deal. Engine oil temps in the 220s to low 230s is normal for the 7.0L in my C5. I do not run an EOC. I assume that your turbos have oil lines running to them. If so you are putting more heat into the oil than when stock.

Turning up the boost on the systems is just fine, at least as long as you have a good tune and don't let someone else screw with it and throw +6-8* of timing blindly at it.... Then you'll detonate the rings out of it, have blow by, and leak oil out of every oriface possible....

I am not talking about that. the engine is rebuilt now and is perfect, the kit is not. I actually called you few weeks ago to order another kit, so dont think I have anything against you. but the kit is not GREAT. its good but not great.

Hey I am selling my kit if interested. I will do 4800 for it. I have upgraded blow off valves ($250 extra) eboost2 boost controller ($550 new) and I also have heat wraps and turbo blankets. the kit new sells for $5800 + the upgrades I have ($1000+) so it cost about $6800 new... let me know if interested.

thanks

I think you know this by now, but no solid numbers were produced, turbo's are junk from china, etc.. He is pulling off the kit (which he re-built, re-welded and re-designed).. Just got tired of all the issues he had from the beginning..

It will be up for sale or trade soon and he is going with another turbo system.

So...he rebuilt it, cut it to pieces and re-designed it, including rerouting the oil return lines over the tops of the turbos...and he had problems?...You don't say? It's funny, everyone jumps on the band wagon of "China turbos" yet no one truly knows who actually makes them, and of any of the problems we've ever had with any of our kits, the turbos have never been one!

Maybe it was smoking like a mad banshie because the oil couldn't get out of the turbos since the lines were routed upwards?

Last I spoke to him, and his tuner, I offered to drop everything I was doing that day to make a trip to Denver to get all these issues resolved, and finally get this thing straightened out. The tuner was busy and was supposed to get back with me to plan another day...this was the last that I heard from anyone.

The blanket statement of "oh china turbos" is getting a bit old, especially since NO ONE has truly had an issue with a single turbo thus far. Judging by the upward routing of the oil return lines, it's pretty clear that he's not familiar enough with turbos to be doing the installation. And I've offered to go up there, I've offered for him to come down here and bring it to me at my shop for me to remedy ((FOR FREE!). This has yet to happen, so the fact that he's still fighting issues (especially after "redesigning" the kit) is no fault but his own.

It's amazing how different your story is than the others who were involved with it on this side and seen things first hand.. You don't like hearing about these Chinese turbos, so then why don't you tell everyone who makes them? You've been asked point blank by several people, including his tuner and himself on what turbos these are and a. some random brand comes out, or B. the question gets ignored.

It is a moot point, kit is going away and I had no dog in this fight other than seeing what he had to go through from the first day he got this kit..Oh and your willingness to drop everything and come help was not always like that, there were numerous times requests went un answered.

First of all. The only things that were "rebuilt, re desgned, and cut were the hot pipes. This was done for fitment issues to make it fit better so I didnt have to trim my fenders for the air filter.

As for the oil lines. That was done during the SECOND attempt to make this all work. I told you that on the phone. The first time I tried to put the car on the dyno, the lines on the car were the lines you supplied. I also told you before the reason I changed the lines was because the ones supplied were leaking in a couple places.

I blamed the turbos not building boost on the wastegates and went and replaced them (my own choice and my own expense). Honestly, after talking to you about the boost problem the first time, I gave the turbos the benefit of the doubt and that is why I blamed wastegates.

This second time, as you are aware, we could not build boost again. Bill tried everything you suggested and dropped the entire exhaust out of the car after you told him the problem was probably back pressure. None of the things you suggested worked. If you are still willing to stand behind these turbos then you will be doing it for someone else.

At this point I am so frustrated, I am just removing the entire kit and going a different route.
