Only had to do one u-turn. There must have been an accident over on the other side of a hill and traffic came to a stop. Well, let's just say that trying to stop and get restartted on a 45 degree ice covered slope wasn't my first choice.
By the way, for those that are interested, the traction control on the C6 does work. It let's you spin more on dry pavement than the C5, but in this nonsense it seems to kick in fast enough.
I also found one feature that would be nice to add: heated wipers. Of course, even driving every day they might come in handy every 2 or three years around here, but when you need them, you need them.
A friend called and said the Turnpike turned into a skating rink. Glad you made it home safe...
TPK sucked, got out of work at 3:15 in New Brunswick got on entrance 9, I get off at 16W, about a 30 mile trip, it took 2 hrs! Then Rt3 was backed up!!! got home about 5:30 I saw a black C5 'vert out in this mess, it was along side me, had Mass plates on it, I'm thinking this guy is crazy driving such a nice car in this crap, nevermind a C6, (Jay!)
Took the Explorer today and my ride home was over 2 1/2 hrs (normally 45 minutes). And I didn't leave the office until 6:30. Most bailed at 2. Didn't have the guts to the the Vette.
Hey Chris....wasnt your Z06 wrecked by that stolen bike a while back?
Yup....To the tune of 5k worth of damage. The accident was assigned a case #, but I have not heard anything as to whether they found the driver..All they had to go on was a VIN as the bike was unregistered (As far as I know the bike was never reported stolen). I realize its not a priority for NCPD, but I'm going to have a friend at the DA's office lean on them a bit as I want the bastard who did it.....She was fixed in no time at all and she's currently hibernating in my garage till spring shows up (assuming it ever does)......
Took the ferry home from NYC to NJ and with 6-8 ft waves on the ocean I can say the ride sucked. Then when I got to the NJ side my frigging door was frozen so I had to climb in through the passenger side.
I did see in the ferry parking lot a C4, C5, and 2 Stangs. I would say that sucked because all the roads were solid ice and I was even taken it slow with the 4x4 on (knowing that 4x4 does nothing on ice except help you crash faster).
Why would I abuse my Vette like that ? I had my Chevy Trailblazer and it still took me 3 1/2 hrs to get home 67 miles ....I don't see the fun having some moran slide into me in my Vette ....
Wow, my commute was hard too! I had to wear boots instead of sneakers! And no more jammies, it's too cold, I have to wear a full skirt.
I enjoy watching people try and get out of parking spots with ice -- apparently they believe if they stand on the accelerator eventually the tires will catch (and hurtle them into the car in front of them). Then, since neither speak english, they hurl insults at each other in different languages.
Oh yah, I called in "sick" today. Yes FJB I was supposed to commute to westchester. Now I think I'll commute from the bedroom to the living room.
Where was everyone else? I didn't see any other Vettes out there. Don't any of you know how to have fun?
Took me about 3 hours to get from Dover to Clifton. The highway wasn't really bad but the side streets were a complete mess. The Vette is now in a serious need of a wash.
