Rex,
We really enjoyed the Grand Canyon Cruise last fall. I'm sure we would be interested in some of your cruises again this year. Covered Bridges, Gettysburg, wandering around the state of PA all sound good.
June 18 the Rochester Corvette Club has a big Finger Lakes (NY) Winery Tour going on.
I promise I'll try to keep up.
Rick
I never had a chance to make your covered bridge tours. The Laurel Highlands in SW PA are pretty in the fall. I can't say I know enough roads there to help plan a run, but that does sound like an excuse for me to do a scouting run with someone.
I know two old PA Hillclimb Association courses, Rose Valley Road out of Trout Run (US 15), and Hyner View near Renovo. Rose Valley Road we could run fast without killing anyone, and Route 15 north of Williamsport is open, fast, and beautiful. The road up to Hyner View is narrow and dangerous. We would have to take it easy, but everyone could get some perspective on what the old Corvette racers were doing back in the 60s. Back then it was put out some hay bales, strap on a helmet and go run. Formula 1 is so antiseptic by comparison. Wasn't there a hillclimb course down near Reading? Maybe we could put together a two day run to visit three or four old PA hillclimb courses?
Here is an idea. Elk Neck State Park. It is a great place to swim, barbecue, hike, or just chill in the sun or shade. It is a descent ride and doable from as far as NY and we could probably meet up with some Southern forum people as well. There are also some great restraunts in the area. Rex, maybe me and you can take a ride down and scope the facilities one weekend soon. I am pretty sure they even have showers. They also have a boat ramp if anybody wanted to bring waverunners or whatever. This would be a great trip for July or August when the Chesapeake water is warm. Perfect for skinnydipping
Have you done the caves yet? Crystal Cave, Lost Cave etc.
How about the Falls? Bushkill, Winona etc?
Hawk Mountain (near Reading)?
The Corning Glass Factory is an AMAZING place - not too far from Wellsboro.
Rickets Glen has a great hike that includes a bunch of waterfalls - awesome. Inner Harbor + crabs
Some combination of the above sites?
Grand Canyon. I know I said I didn't want to do this again this year BUT by popular request let's do it again! (MOJO, I checked and there is no ECS CC that weekend so no excuses! http://forums.corvetteforum.com/show...37&forum_id=40

Yeah DINO, I'm working on it, but nobody wants to do anything. My whole crew has other things going on.
Don't worry, we still have the two crab trips, John's BBQ, there are a few Cruise Nights happeneing along the shore.
I have to spend a day to figure out this Hooters thing. I only know of four in NJ, although that may still work, but who is willing to travel around the garbage state all day long?
