Default 2005 Event IDEAS?

Here are some ideas I have, I'm looking for some feedback and input if you have any event ideas.

Lap of PA cruise.
General idea would be to make it a 3 day weekend, meeting at a motel Thursday night, leaving as a group Friday AM, ending it Sunday. I figure to make it about 500 - 600 miles. Would largely be on secondary roads, maybe the first and last 100 miles on highway.

Mystery Cruise.
This could be a day or weekend deal. I'd pick the place and map it, no one would know where we are going until meet up time.

Grand Canyon Cruise.
Been there done that, time for something new this year. Thoughts I have are Harpers Ferry WVA, Gettysburg.

Day Cruise.
Centrailia, The coal town that's always on fire (underground).
Kuanaville, DE on Sundays.
Swigart Auto Museum in Huntingdon, PA
Anyone know of any other Auto Museums?

Go Karts.
A Sunday event in Oakes, PA
And of course before the gorging of crabs - MOJO get on this one!

I still want to do the Grand Canyon again sometime.

Don't forget one or more of my Crab Trips, I'm hoping to change it up a bit this year.

Gettysburg is always nice and the one lap is great except that I may not be able to get the time off for it.

We still have both Skylines and the Cruise In.

I would like to resurrect the breakfast club again.

We also have the ECS Corvette Challenge and the Show and Go. Folks don't necessarily have to race, we usually race and then go somewhere afterwards for dinner and lie to each other about our performances that day.

Covered Bridge tours, been wanting to do one of them again.

What about the Nudie Cruise? Doesn't have to be Cape Cod, but at least one trip somewhere might do us some good.

Vettes at Glasstown, and I was also considering the Mid America Funfest and skipping Carlisle, but Carlisle is having the C4 racecars featured this year, so I'm definitely going there.

and quite a few of us have trucks, I'm thinking about the Truck Nationals at Carlisle

I love the idea of a Mystery Tour. Get in your car and drive...we'll let you know when you get there! The problem is picking the place. You could get blasted if you pick a bad place!!!

How about a trip to Rhobeth Beach, DE to the shops. We could all come down through NJ on the GSP and fill up the Ferry that goes across from Cape May to Lewes, DE?

I didnt list these because these are given, I'm looking for new ideas. Pick some dates already for your Crab Cruises

It's only one day off, call in sick

Go for it, I've been hearing that since last year

I think EVERYONE knows about ECS CC. Guess I was really reaching out to the cruisers and not the racers, or at least the cruising side of the racers Plus let me put something out regarding ECS CC, I've taken some flack for scheduling events the same day as an ESC CC race day. BUT I have mindfully scheduled events not on a race day. Events on non race days does not bring out the racers to these except for maybe you Mr. MOJO.

Always been a disaster but go for it. It's not my idea of fun paying some bimbo a $1 to see her fake tatas, I get real ones for free, plus I can touch

John

If you cancel the Grand Canyon cruise this year, at least run one cruise North of Philadelphia for us North Jersey people.

I like the idea of the 3 day Lap of PA cruise.

Mystery tour sounds interesting.

I also like the idea of something for us northerners in NJ.

I'm up for anything. The PA trip sounds real cool. Lots of driving and I know there are some nice roads in PA.

MOJO get those crab runs scheduled. Can't wait for the next one of those.

Go Carts Go Carts Go Carts.. We need to try and get a GO Cart circuit going.

Rex, If you need any help with any of the cruises let me know. I'll do what I can whenever possible.

If you go to the outlet in Rhobeth be sure to stop in at the Nine West shoe store and say Hi to my daughter Jenn she runs the store.

Like the idea of Harper Ferry, WVa., something different from the Grand Canyon. Not sure we would be able to do the 3 day thing, I don't think Peg would have enough time off left after all the things we have scheduled for the year.

I really like the covered bridge idea. I have a map that has every covered bridge in PA on it if you need it.

I like the ideas. I am one guilty of asking for non race dates and then not showing up so I won't ask anymore.

I will however still try and attend something this year

How about visiting our neck of the woods. Besides miles of twisty mountain roads there is West Point, great museum, beautiful grounds. On wed. nights there is a cruise at Bear Mountain in which you get well over 700 cars of all types. Several wineries check out www.thethayerhotel.com it will give you a good idea of what is available in our area. But most important, two big groups of vette people could get together .
