Don't jump to conclusions yet. The house in Westchester wasn't too nice. We then headed to a house in New Windsor, near the twisties of 9W. When I saw how close it would be to the twisties, I was like "I'll take it!!!" The price was really good too but we still have to find some stats on the surrounding area. The neighborhood looked really nice, with bear mountain in the background and alot of nice houses in the area. The house has a two car garage, 4 bedrooms, a finished basement and a very nice backyard with deck. But like I said, we weren't too crazy about the surrounding area a few miles away (Newburgh isn't too far).
Finally, we went to see this beautiful house all the way in New Hampton, a gorgeous house with tons of land and which is practically brand new. Its too far away though, even if my wife starts working in Irvington. For me, the commute would take forever. It was beautiful though, it looked alot like Dion's house.
We're basically just looking around, learning about different areas and prices in that area. We'll see what happens. Oh BTW, our real estate agents was so freakin hot!!! Her name is Jennifer and she has a nice southern accent. I didn't mind spending the day watching her climb stairs to the second floor of the houses
Good luck house hunting it is a long process to go through. It is even longer once you sign that contract as some a-holes want keep you in contract as long as possible. Hopefully as interest rates creep up the prices of homes around here level off. But there seems to be no light at the end of the tunnel. How will Barry survive with out you?
Alex: good luck with the house hunt... take as much time as necessary... and if you need a second opinon, I know a really good real estate broker (her name is Liz) who has knowledge of Westchester, Putnam, Dutchess and the other surrounding counties....

Just get a job in Westchester, they actually have a fair amount of technology out that way. Check out IBM in White Plains.
Good luck.

My wife is currently interviewing for a position at AskJeeves in Irvington. That's what prompted this whole idea of moving further up. If she makes enough dough there, I'll just spend my time in the garage zainoing the vette. The first thing I checked out at all the houses we saw this weekend, was the garage. Just the garage would be enough shelter for me. A midget size toilet and a cot in there and I'm all set.

I thought you pooped Zaino? If you did, that would be like the circle of life right there!
I grew up right next to Irvington in Hastings-on-Hudson, those river towns can be quite nice.
So what did you use on that beautiful C3 you had? Still can't believe you sold it. That's like going out with Miss America and dumping her in order to willingly pay more attention to your right hand.
