Default How Bad Is It?

[C6 DVL] You mean bent rim?
________________________________________ ____________________

You can bend the steel belts in a tire, which will cause the tire to Wobble. I don't think there is a cure for this. Two years ago I bent the left front and rear rims on my way to Tennessee. It drove pretty good up to 75mph and then you could feel it. Also put a bulge in the front tire. Didn't have to worry about a speeding ticket on that trip.

Can your friend find a Goodyear, or other reputable tire place in the area (Firestone, STS, Sears, etc.)?

Google Links

Depending on the damage, it may not be repairable, and those places would be well equipped to locate a new rim.

Check with Town Fair tire on Long Ridge Rd or Hank May Goodyear on Magee Av. Those are the only tire shops I know in Stamford.

If you have blown a bubble in the tire, you need a new tire. If you bent the alloy wheel, you need to look in the back of any automotive magazine for a rim job service. I don't know how feasible it is. You would need to send your rim out to be serviced.

Ed has the name of a good rim job guy.

Place is on Canal St...Canal Wheel & Tire I believe. They have computer controlled sensors to measure the deviation of your rim (outer and inner). They can also weld any damaged material. Ask for Kim to handle your rim.

What I want to know is: how did you damage the rim? Is it no longer rounded? Is it now squared at all? Damaged rims by hard objects can require material be grafted on, so you want to make sure the proctologist, er rim dr, can handle aluminum.

You should also as Stephen about upgrading to bling.
