Default Hit a deer in the Ruby

I was going south on the NE extension of the PA turnpike this evening and about 2 miles south of the Lansdale exit I hit a deer that was very recently hit. I was in the left lane, an 18 wheeler in front of me and one in the right lane next to me. The truck in front of me strattled the deer and it was right in front of me in a split second. I got over to the right of my lane as much as I could but hit it and ran over it with my left wheels. A few miles down the road I passed a mini van that must have hit it first as his left front was all smashed up. Fortunately I survived although my heart was beating real hard for about 10 minutes. The nose is cracked and I have deer guts all over the bottom of the car. Time to call my insurance. Good thing I have a back up Vette

Glad you're ok. I have driven down the PA tpke down to about exit 11 when visiting family. I remember seeing lots of deer splatter all over the highway many times. Even see many reflecting eyes on the side of the road ...

Me and Crusher almost did the same thing a few years ago. Dead deer in teh left lane, I saw him swerve to miss it, then I saw it, so luckily nobody next to me, I got around it without hitting it.

Glad you're OK dude.

Ouch!

Bummer about the Vette. It can be fixed and underwear can be replaced. Glad you're O.K.

P.S. Reminds me of the mid-road truckload of chicken parts dumping and subsequent multi-corvette splattering from our NCM / Dragon trip a couple years ago. Only then the parts pretty much washed off. Well, most of them washed off.

These are the pre splattered deer, as opposed to the post splattered deer that Rex hit. Hey Rex, at least someone else tenderized it for you first. Nothing sucks like hitting a 200 pound buck with a nice rack!

Sorry to hear this. That really sucks. Good thing is everybody is Ok, except for the deer of course. Let me know if you want to take it to Cicconi's. He does nice work and will work with you. I will give him a call if you decide to take that route. Does it still drive OK?

Sorry to hear that John. Glad you are OK. At least it was better than hitting the deer first. See you Saturday.

Damn, that sucks!

Let's hope we don't have a group hit this weekend.

Turkeys can be bad too. I saw a lot more than usual this year riding up Pine Creek with my Uncle Jim. They won't be on Route 6 but may be on some of the back roads we take on the way home.

Glad you are OK, sounded like it could have been a lot worse.
Have fun on the weekend. Sorry we couldn't make it. Hopefully next trip.

Even a cat can do damage.
I hit a cat in my son's lowered Saab 9000 Aero at about 85mph. Broke the spoiler, driving light, and broke the fittings off the AC condensor, dumping the R12 (expensive) charge. If I went to a shop to fix it all, it would have been a grand easy.

Oh, and for those that care, the cat was toast.

It's a good thing it is only a C4 anyway John.
