Nice investigative work Jimmy.....
I don't remember seeing a bottle with a neck like that. I see the ladle with the bottle so I assume it has something to do with scooping out whatever it is that rises to the top.....

I collect milk bottles !!! I have been buying on Ebay milk bottles from Sisco Dairy in Clifton....my Grandfather was a milkman for Sisco. It's pretty cool to collect am up to 6 bottles.

Cool..... I have some old bottles down my basement from the breweries that are now long gone. Haven't looked at them for a long time.

I get my milk delivered, we were getting bottles before 9/11. After that the driver said for what ever reason he would have trouble getting the bottles, I think they came from NY. Now we just get cartons, but it is still nice and fresh.

My guess is the bottle was shaped like that because in the old days milk was not homogenized and the cream would separate.

I remember my dad getting furious with me and my friends because we would go in the basement and have water fights with the old Seltzer bottles. We would squirt them at each other and use them up. Those were delivered to your door also. The bottles we heavy.
