People did die in the wave pool that was nuts, in the deep end the water was ruff, you could not even climb out in that and without the water sucking you back in. But I believe the only electrocution was on the new kayak ride.
The best ride was the kamikaze water slide, it would rip the bikinis off woman. And if you were a guy you got wedgies with your shorts.

I remember that, girls would walk out of there looking for their bikinis, trying to cover themselves up. Pimply teenager with zits on their backs would come out of there with their backs bleeding. I remember being on line and the guy in front of me was soaking wet since he had just gone on the ride, his back was full of blood. It totally grossed me out. I turned around and went on another ride.
The alpine slide was the first attraction there before it grew. It is/was a ski resort and that was a way to make money in the summer. When I was a kid you got a ticket and got to go down the slide like 4 times and that was it. Then we went over to space farms to watch the monkeys throw their own excrement. Soon after that they started to add some water attractions, like a big pool and water slide. Then after that it just started growing big time with lots of rides. Every year one or more persons would die there on one of the rides.
I live near Space Farms and it is still open, though it's probably closed for the season by now. To those who remember Palisades Park and Freedomland, do you remember Steeplechase in Coney Island and the electric horse ride? ...and the greatest roller coaster ever, the Cyclone, which is still running!

The electric horse race was great. The wooden slides were also pretty cool. I never got to go on the parachute jump.
Now back to Jersey....I heard on the radio that another attraction is closing it's doors, something about a cut-back of funding.

Don't stand in front of my car anytime soon.......my foot may slip off the clutch.
I do remember the horse drawn cart that came around with fruit and vegtables.....the milk man that drove a truck while standing.......mail was delivered twice a day.....movie was $.25......pizza was $.15.....bus and train also $.15 (no airconditioning) we walked to school (uphill both ways) built scooters with milk crates, 2x4's and old skates.....doctors made house calls.....so did the TV repair man (black & white, I was the remote control) played oudoors till it got dark.....stoop ball.....tag....hide and go seek......tree forts.
Just think of the things you will see in your lifetime......that is if you stay away from the front of my car.

I remember Pizza being $.50 - I used to walk to school - Uphill both ways and when I went to middle school it was a mile walk - Hide and seek and tag were fun - we used to stay out during the summer till 11pm (I was like 13) playing around the neighborhood. I remember roller skating with my metal skates in the street. They made so much noise!!
Last time i was at Action park I bungie jumped and I think we did the superman ride. That was wicked.
Now kids just go on their computers and have millions of friends they don't know. Whatever happened to society??

Yea, I never see kids playing outside anymore. They just text each other now. When I was real young I had to be home when the street lights came on

I was never home. Always outside playing a game or swimming. Or getting my first kiss on Small Mountain in Haskell. I had tons of fun when I was a kid!! We knew how to play!! I was in my old hometown a few weeks back. I seen maybe 3 kids out riding bikes and that was it.
When my kids they were always outside playing as well. I even didnt have cable when they were little so they werent sitting in front of the tv and the time.

My old man was a NYC cop. He used to tell me stories about When he was growing up. One day they were playing stick ball and the fruit guy parked his horse drwan cart on third base. Some bad *** Frankie (forget his last name) told him to move it and he wouldn't so he punched the horsse in the Jaw and knocked it out!
They used to jump on the back of the ice truck, since there were no refrigerators back then. One day him and a buddy jumped on going up a hill. One of the ice blocks comes sliding off the trcuk and takes out my dads buddy and crushes him in the road. My old man had to testify in court what happened. $h!tty thing to deal with at 12, no? Miss the old man, and his stories.
