Carry a tire repair kit, and /or get a AAA membership.

I would not want to mess around with-out run flats, Good Year sux, but the Mich. Pilots are the best, quiet zero road noise. I ran over a 2x4 on the highway, had a rip in the sidewall, continued the drive to work(+15 miles), looked for a good year dealer, drove another 10 miles to the shop............ Otherwise, my day would have been a disaster

My current car (00 Coupe) has run craps, my last car (95 coupe) did not. One night I was heading from NJ down to FL in my 95, I had planned to leave around 7 PM on a weeknight to give traffic time to die down, the way I plan things this turns into start packing at 8 PM and freek out figuring what I am forgetting (like maybe check the spare tire) leave around 10 PM. In Northern VA, maybe half hour south of DC, its now the middle of the night and I need a smoke so I pull over at a rest stop (just vending and bathrooms) and as soon I get out of the car I hear a hissing sound and see a nail in the tire. I don't know why the C4 had the spare tire were it does, it is a PITA just to find it let alone get the tire in and out. Once I get this figured out I see that my spare is flat too I am miles from home and now I am really Walking around the rest stop cursing and chain smoking, I spot a sign with VA State Police emergecny numbers They hook me up with a tow truck, the driver is able to hook me up with a tow to a cheap hotel right next to a tire place, and I hook the driver up with a nice tip Got the tire patched the next day and had a great cruise and a great time in FL Got back home and got a set of run craps, came with my new to me 00 coupe

I carry a tire repair kit, a small jack, an air pump, and have AAA.

The repair kit, jack and air pump are all simply for peace of mind. I know pretty darn well that I'm callin AAA before I even think about getting dirty futzin with a flat.

Oh, and I haven't been stranded with a flat in my over 30 years of driving.
